Do you know if there it's possible to have the lettering fade in as they appear? It would make it look a little smoother, but I imagine it would require much more complex coding.
After, what it seems like HOURS and HOURS and searching for the simplest AC3 typewriter code, this is by far the BEST and easiest to follow. Thank you! I will definitely be on your site more often.
Ok, I have not been using Actionscript that long. I just tried your typewriter script and although it works, I cannot get past the first frame! When I try to add another layer and then add some frames to it, it keeps giving me this error when testing the movie...
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at cotc_cube_fla::MainTimeline/gotime() at flash.utils::Timer/_timerDispatch() at flash.utils::Timer/tick()
How do I get this to work with more than one frame?
Thanks so much for your tutorial... Its help me much. But. Could you tell me? there are a way to insert bold text in the variable? like that var str1:String = "Tree tips\n \b1.\b blablabla "
This helped me tremendously, but can I ask if you want it to forward to a second screen to show more text typing how would that be done? For example, when that first window finished it would clear and continue to type again on a clean screen. Thanks so much
